A crypto asset service provider company was using nearly 50 AWS services and had built many automation playbooks as part of their proactive security strategy. These playbooks once triggered would action remediation events on non-compliant resources where configuration accuracy was in doubt.
Notifications were sent using e-mail rather than a single pane of glass dashboard views for critical incidents. However there was an important element missing which was the runtime code inspection & protection aspects which FortiCNAPP could achieve.
FortiCNAPP (ex Laceworks) provided the real time dashboards and runtime code monitoring & protection to enhance the work performed by the other playbooks.
Real time visibility into resource communication & service connections was achieved with the platform thereby enhancing the customer’s security posture, quality of API code and resource utilizations in case additional compute power was required. FortiCNAPP along with its AI capabilities was able to enhance the customer security and runtime code performance through contextual awareness & security posturing using the CSPM & ASPM modules. CIEM modules allowed for better cloud service entitlement management & reduced the usage costs for the customer by consolidating some of the services & optimizing communication paths.
